Hi, I'm Josh Leach.

I’m a student from the UK.
I Grew up in West Sussex, England.
I love being outdoors, and am an avid, Kayaker, Climber And Hiker.
I’ve recently delved into the world of cybersecurity, with my mind loving the challenged and problems that need overcoming.

I had the opportunity to go to South Korea for the 25th World Scout Jamboree. AS I'm sure you have seen through news outlets, and social media posts - This did not go to plan, with the UK evacuating after two days on site. My endurance through this shows my resilience and ability to plough on through bad situations, and I ended up having an amazing experience out there - just not the original one I thought of.

I was tasked with designing Lighting, Video, Sound and Audio for the Senior Production of DNA for HTS Performing arts academy. (https://htsperformingartsacademy.co.uk). Both designing and executing the entire Technological aspect of the show. These skills lead me to be nominated for the National School Theatre Awards for the Best Set, Lighting or Sound Design by a pupil. These experiences allow me to learn to work well with others, from the Performers to the Staff Members that make the show happen.

My Soft Skills

Furthering My Skills

I'm not afraid to ask for help if the project needs it. That being said, if it means learning a new skill, I will always be up for learning something new so that I can further add to the project and develop myself. With the right understanding, I'm more than happy to just crack on with task in hand and complete what is necessary while also going above and beyond.

Leadership

I was selected as Patrol Leader for Korea (25th WSJ), and am a Scout & Cubs Leader within the movement I love this role of leadership as it allows me to not only better my skills in teaching others but allows others to learn something from what I have to share.

Teamwork

My experience has taken me from working on my own, to alongside clients and contractors. and further on to major teams of 100+ collegues.

Problem-Solving

My interest in electronics and cybersecurity brings with it a love for problem solving, as each time I debug code, find errors in a circuit, or delve into the issues of a network, I build up my problem solving abilities, and transfer them across the problems I encounter.

Communication

From my time spent with clients, I have learnt the necessity for shared understanding and being able to portray what I'm thinking clearly. While understanding wants and needs of everyone involved.

Time Management

I have many personal projects, alongside the work I do with clients and colleagues, this results in me having to manage my time well, as to prioritise - And make sure I get away from my computer once in a while!
